EV Charger Installation

Canadian Certification for Imported Machines
Imported industrial machinery can't legally run in Canada until it meets Canadian standards. We inspect the machine, correct what isn't to code, and arrange the field evaluation and approval (CSA SPE-1000) so it can be operated legally in Ontario.

Common questions
Are you licensed to do electrical work in Ontario?
Yes. Nest Light Corporation is a licensed electrical contractor with the ECRA/ESA, Licence #7017438, and we carry full liability insurance. In Ontario, only a licensed electrical contractor can legally be hired to do electrical work. We file the ESA notifications and arrange the inspections the work requires.
Do you charge for quotes?
Quotes are free. Use the form below, or text, WhatsApp or email us a description of the job. For panel upgrades and EV chargers, a photo of your existing panel often lets us give you an accurate price without a site visit.
Does a panel upgrade need a permit and inspection?
Yes. Service and panel work in Ontario needs an ESA notification (permit) and an inspection, and the utility has to disconnect and reconnect your power. We handle all of it as part of the job, so you don't have to deal with the paperwork.
Can my 100A panel handle an EV charger?
Often, yes. It depends on your home's total load, so we do a proper load calculation first. If your service is already close to capacity, we'll tell you honestly and quote a 200A upgrade or a load management device instead.
Do you build power and control panels?
Yes. We design, build, install and troubleshoot industrial power and control panels, including motor starters, VFDs, PLC and relay controls. Panels are built and wired to the Canadian Electrical Code and labelled clearly, and we also repair and modify existing panels.
I imported an industrial machine. Can you get it approved for use in Canada?
Yes, that's a regular part of our industrial work. Machinery built for another country usually doesn't meet Canadian requirements as-is, and it can't legally be operated in Ontario until it does. We inspect the machine against Canadian standards (CSA SPE-1000), correct the wiring, components and protection that aren't compliant, and coordinate the field evaluation and approval so the machine carries the mark it needs.
